A good interim manager is not an external force who just comes in to put out fires, but a temporary teammate who integrates quickly and contributes structurally. B2B vs. B2C: a totally different approach <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

Anyone who thinks credit management is the same everywhere is mistaken. In B2C, it’s often about empathy: dealing with complaints, social situations, and emotional reactions. In B2B, the emphasis is on logic, figures, and relationships with key accounts. <\/p>\n\n

Jan makes it clear that both worlds require completely different profiles. B2C demands communication skills and patience, while B2B requires more business acumen and close alignment with sales. The sector also makes a difference: in telecom, there was a fear of churn with strict collections, while banks and energy companies have different rules and sensitivities. Flexibility and contextual knowledge are therefore essential for anyone wanting to excel in both domains. <\/p>\n\n

Technology is a tool, not a miracle<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

Automation is indispensable in modern credit management, from e-invoicing to SMS reminders and AI chatbots. But technology must be well-embedded in a process that remains human. Jan advocates for procedural clarity combined with human nuance. <\/p>\n\n

A clear example: companies that shorten their payment terms from 30 to 7 days without notice risk frustration and missed payments. Or AI chatbots that start conversations but drop out as soon as the problem becomes complex. The real win lies in convenience: QR codes, good communication, short payment flows. Technology should support, not frustrate. And there, too, listening remains essential: to your customer and to your team. <\/p>\n\n
